Art is Joy...
Exploring into Huizinga's idea of Homo Ludens and his interpretation of culture as a play, I conceive painting as sort of "ivresse" were beauty and happiness should transport us into a state of blissful joy far from the ugly and sad part of life, using the spell of the imagination. My work is mainly anthropocentrical, exploring the human figure and the portrait, trying to reinterpret the context to offer something new. I like to work with popular characters or people and famous works of art, deconstructing the original image in order to built a refreshing message. I think it's easier to convey an idea using familiar elements, previously well known by the observer. In my intention is implicit the aim to offer not only a painting or an idea, but a smile. Now I want to share my little world with you, I sincerely hope you like it. Thank you.
